Turmeric is not just popular in curries, but it has a very long history of medicinal use, dating back thousands of years – with roots in Indian Traditional Ayurvedic medicine and Traditional Chinese medicine.
Nature’s Superfoods’ Organic Turmeric Powder hails from a chemical- and pesticide-free Himalayan region in India and is naturally higher in curcumin content - minimum 4-6% curcumin (lab-tested) so that you get only the best quality. The high curcumin content enhances the powder’s colour, aroma and medicinal value as a powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory spice. Common commercially available turmericpowder contains only 2-3% curcumin.
No colours, additives, or preservatives have been added.
TURMERIC: Its main benefit comes from its anti-inflammatory qualities due to compounds called curcuminoids - Curcumin is the primary curcuminoid in turmeric and is also the key ingredient responsible for its therapeutic properties. Curcumin is also a strong antioxidant that can neutralize free radicals and stimulate the body’s own antioxidant mechanisms.
It is good to note that curcumin, on its own, is not easily absorbed in the body. It is recommended that to maximize absorption, Turmeric should be consumed with a small amount of black pepper, in a dish/meal with a small amount of healthy fats (egg, olive oil, coconut oil, avocado, milk etc).
